Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga, teaches that food is medicine. What we eat directly impacts our physical health, mental state, and spiritual capacity.

The Sattvic Diet

Yogic nutrition centers around Sattvic foods: fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, ghee, and mild spices like turmeric and ginger.

Eating for Your Dosha

Vata

Warm, cooked, grounding foods like soups and root vegetables.

Pitta

Cooling foods like salads, sweet fruits, and coconut water.

Kapha

Light, warm, and spicy foods that stimulate digestion.

Mindful Eating

It's not just what you eat, but how. Eat in a calm environment, chew thoroughly, and avoid overeating.

At Anantadrishti Yoga, every meal served during our teacher training courses follows these sattvic principles. For practical day-to-day tips, see our companion guide on Ayurvedic diet tips for a healthy life.
