Teacher Biography – Anantadrishti Yoga

Integrating Traditional Yogic Wisdom, Pranayama Science, and Spiritual Awareness

As a yoga teacher at Anantadrishti Yoga, Rishikesh, my approach to yoga is rooted in the exploration of the relationship between breath, body, mind, energy, and consciousness. My teaching brings together traditional yogic knowledge, systematic practical training, philosophical inquiry, and scientific perspectives to develop a deeper understanding of yoga as both a discipline and a way of life.

My primary area of focus is advanced pranayama and its multidimensional influences on human experience. Through practices such as Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana, Agnisara, Bandhas, Kumbhakas, and Chakra Pranayamas, I guide students in exploring respiratory patterns, bodily responses, mental attention, emotional processes, and traditional concepts of pranic energy. Mudras and Bīja Mantras further complement this exploration by integrating breath, concentration, vibration, and meditative awareness.

My teaching also draws upon the philosophical foundations of yoga, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Upanishadic wisdom, and classical Indian philosophical perspectives. Through the study of concepts such as Prana, the Panchakosha, the Gunas, the states of consciousness, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and self-observation, students are encouraged to understand not only how yogic practices are performed, but also their deeper purpose.

I am particularly interested in examining traditional yogic insights alongside contemporary knowledge of respiratory physiology, neuroscience, psychology, and nervous-system function. This interdisciplinary approach encourages students to investigate their experiences with awareness, discernment, and a spirit of inquiry, while distinguishing traditional energetic interpretations from scientifically established mechanisms.

Beyond physical techniques and intellectual understanding, my teaching emphasizes discipline, self-study, experiential learning, and devotional awareness. Vedic mantra chanting, Puja, Rudrabhisheka, Kirtan, meditation, and other contemplative practices provide opportunities to explore the devotional dimension of yoga.

At Anantadrishti Yoga, my intention is to create a learning environment where sincere practice, philosophical understanding, scientific curiosity, and spiritual inquiry support one another. Yoga is approached not merely as a collection of techniques, but as a transformative journey toward greater self-awareness, inner balance, and a deeper understanding of life.
