Benefits of Morning Sadhana
Why practice yoga in the early morning (Brahma Muhurta)? Learn how a morning Sadhana supports a steady body, a clear mind, and spiritual growth.

In the yogic tradition, the hours just before sunrise are known as Brahma Muhurta—the "time of the creator." It is the most auspicious time for spiritual practice, or Sadhana.
Why Practice in the Morning?
1. Stillness of Mind
In the early morning, the world is quiet. The collective consciousness is at rest. This external silence supports internal silence, making meditation deeper.
2. Purified Atmosphere
The air is often at its freshest before the day begins, and yoga tradition holds that it is most charged with Prana at this hour, which is why Pranayama is traditionally practised at dawn.
3. Setting the Tone for the Day
Starting your day with intention creates a buffer against stress.
Creating a Routine
- Wake up: 30 minutes before sunrise.
- Cleanse: Wash your face and brush your teeth.
- Sit: 10-15 minutes of quiet meditation or mantra chanting.
- Move: 5-10 rounds of Surya Namaskar.
A disciplined morning practice is the heartbeat of our Advanced Pranayama & Yoga Philosophy Course, where every teaching day begins with a guided pranayama session. To learn how to build a sustainable daily practice, see our beginner's guide to meditation.
