Tapovan is a quiet, elevated neighborhood on the northern edge of Rishikesh, perched above the Ganges with views of the Himalayan foothills. While the main town of Rishikesh and nearby Laxman Jhula bustle with tourists, Tapovan offers the perfect balance: close enough to access everything you need, yet peaceful enough for deep, uninterrupted practice.
Why Tapovan for Yoga Training?
Most established yoga schools, including Anantadrishti Yoga, are located in Tapovan for good reason:
- Quieter environment — Away from the tourist bustle of Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, the atmosphere is more conducive to study and meditation.
- Elevated position — Perched on a cliff above the Ganges, the views are stunning and the air is cleaner.
- Yoga community density — A high concentration of quality yoga schools means you're surrounded by fellow practitioners.
- Walking distance to everything — Cafes, shops, ATMs, and the riverside are all within a 10–15 minute walk.
