Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our 200-hour yoga teacher training program in Rishikesh. Can't find your answer? Contact us on WhatsApp.
What is a 200-hour yoga teacher training?
A 200-hour yoga teacher training is a comprehensive certification program covering Hatha & Ashtanga yoga, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. It qualifies you to register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance and teach globally. At Anantadrishti, our 200-hour TTC spans 26 days and includes over 200 contact hours of instruction, practice, and assessment.
Is 200-hour YTT enough to teach yoga?
Yes. A 200-hour certification (RYT 200) is the standard foundational requirement to teach yoga professionally at studios, gyms, and retreats worldwide. After completing our program, you can register with Yoga Alliance International and begin teaching immediately.
What is included in the 200-hour yoga TTC at Anantadrishti?
Our 200-hour TTC includes 25 nights accommodation (shared or private room), 3 daily sattvic vegetarian meals, comprehensive course materials and manuals, Yoga Alliance certification fee, one Himalayan excursion, Wi-Fi access, filtered drinking water, welcome ceremony, neti pot and rubber neti, a course T-shirt, and weekly temple visits including Ganga Aarti.
How much does 200-hour yoga teacher training cost in Rishikesh?
At Anantadrishti Yoga, our 26-day inclusive 200-hour program costs $1,200 USD for a shared room and $1,500 USD for a private room. Early bird pricing is available: $1,050 USD (shared) and $1,350 USD (private) when you book 60 days in advance. This covers tuition, meals, accommodation, certification, and excursions.
Do I need a yoga visa for India?
No, a standard Indian Tourist Visa (e-Visa) is sufficient for the duration of the 200-hour yoga teacher training course. The e-Visa can be applied for online and typically allows stays of 30 to 90 days depending on your nationality. We recommend applying at least 2-3 weeks before your travel date.
What is the daily schedule like?
Your day begins at 5:30 AM with Nitya Puja and Vedic Havan, followed by pranayama sadhana from 7:00-9:00 AM. After a sattvic breakfast, you attend Hatha Yoga and anatomy classes from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Afternoons include yoga philosophy, mantra chanting, and evening puja. The day concludes with bhajan/kirtan, dinner, and satsang or trataka meditation, ending around 9:00 PM.
What should I bring to the yoga teacher training?
We recommend bringing comfortable yoga clothing, a light shawl or blanket for meditation, a notebook and pen for philosophy classes, sunscreen and insect repellent, any personal medications, and an open mind. A yoga mat is optional as we provide mats for use during the course, though you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
What if I am not flexible enough for yoga teacher training?
Absolutely no prior flexibility is required. Our 200-hour program is designed for practitioners of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced yogis. Our teachers meet you exactly where you are and guide your progress with patience and personal attention. Yoga is not about touching your toes -- it is about the journey inward.
Is the Yoga Alliance certification valid worldwide?
Yes. Upon successful completion of the program, you receive a Yoga Alliance International RYT-200 certification that is recognized and valid worldwide. You can register with Yoga Alliance USA, Yoga Alliance International, or equivalent bodies in your home country and begin teaching at studios, gyms, retreats, and wellness centers globally.
Can I extend my stay after the course?
Yes, with prior arrangement. Many students choose to extend their stay in Rishikesh after completing the TTC to continue their personal practice, explore the Himalayas, or simply integrate what they have learned. We can help arrange additional accommodation at our facility or recommend nearby options, subject to availability.
What style of yoga is taught in the 200-hour TTC?
Our 200-hour program covers both Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa (Primary Series introduction). You will also receive extensive training in pranayama, meditation, mantra chanting, yoga philosophy (Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita), functional anatomy, and teaching methodology. The curriculum meets Yoga Alliance standards while maintaining deep roots in traditional Indian yoga.
Are there any prerequisites to join the 200-hour program?
There are no strict prerequisites. We welcome students of all levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner. A sincere desire to learn and a commitment to the full 26-day residential schedule are all that is required. We do recommend having at least a basic familiarity with yoga postures, but it is not mandatory.
